About

Why is it called a noo noo?

noo noos are idea for camping.Nicky got her first noo noo twenty years ago having just arrived in the extremely cold Himalayas after being in sweltering southern India for six months. She immediately fell in love with them! They’re called noo noos because her daughter Ruby had a little blanket that went everywhere with her, which she called a noo noo!  We decided that even when we “grow up” we still need a snuggly place to wrap up wherever and whoever we are.

How big are they?

They are 40″ x 80″  (approx. 2m x 1m) and have tassles at each end.  They have a different design on each side.  One side is more stripey than the other. You can see both sides of each noo noo by clicking on the  product.

What can a noo noo be used for?

What can’t a noo noo be used for!  They’re great shawls, throws, wraps, scarves,  picnic rugs, festival blankets, for meditation and yoga, blankets for special pets, travel rugs for the car, ponchos (just cut a hole in the middle), making dens and so many other uses!  They’re just generally very handy to have around when you need to feel snuggly and warm!

Are they machine washable?

Yes they will go in the washing machine at 30 degrees and we recommend that they be washed gently when you first get them. This removes the fine fluff of the brand new product which is particularly important for young children as it could be a choking hazard.

noo noos mature like people and last for many years. They just get more worn in and loved!  But that’s the beauty of a noo noo. It improves with age like we do!

What are noo noos made of?

approx 20% wool and 80% acrylic.

Are there any extra costs?

Pricing is the same for each noo noo.  No matter how many noo noos you buy you will only be charged one fixed price for postage and packing.

We also offer a gift wrapping service which can be added on each product page before checking out.

Who is a noo noo for?

noo noos have universal appeal. Everyone loves them.

How do I pay for my noo noo?

Once you’ve added your noo noos to the basket you will be taken to the checkout. If you want to pay straight away with Paypal there is a link. However if you prefer to pay with  BACS  that’s fine.  Contact us for details. We will send noo noos overseas but would have to get shipping costs for you before dispatching.

Who created this beautiful website?

The world of noo noos began at festivals in the north of the UK with a small sheet on the ground and a cardboard sign!  Now we have stepped into the online world and this wonderful noo noo website was created by our dear friend and superb Web Designer, Brian Goodgroves. We highly recommend him if you are wanting to redesign an existing site or create something new and exciting! As you will see his attention to detail is beautiful and he really listens to what you want. We needed a site that felt snuggly and he made it happen!  At the bottom of every page there is a link to a contact form for Brian. We would also like to say a huge thank you to all our family and friends who were involved in creating this beautiful website.

We hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed creating it!
